Stars Scholarship Fund is thrilled to announce the 2026 Rio Grande Valley Extravaganza, set for Thursday, April 16, 2026, in Mission, Texas. This beloved annual event unites community leaders, donors, and advocates in support of higher education and life-changing scholarship opportunities for students across South and West Texas.
Since its founding in 2002, Stars Scholarship Fund has awarded more than $42 million in scholarships, supporting over 20,000 students in achieving their college degrees. In the 2025-2026 academic year alone, generous sponsors helped fund 546 student scholarships totaling $1.7 million.
This year's theme, "Stand Up for Stars," invites guests to enjoy a fun, relaxed, and laughter-filled evening, all while making a direct impact on students pursuing their academic dreams. Guests will enjoy great company, meaningful impact, and the signature Extravaganza experience our supporters know and love.
This year's featured entertainer is Anjelah Johnson-Reyes, one of the most successful stand-up comedians working today. With six comedy specials streaming across multiple platforms and a career that has taken her to sold-out theaters around the world, Anjelah brings both humor and heart to every stage she graces. Of Mexican and Native American descent and born and raised in San Jose, California, she is a familiar and beloved face to audiences nationwide. Her most recent comedy special, Say I Won't, has surpassed 9.4 million views on YouTube, and she is currently wrapping the final leg of her "The Family Reunion" stand-up comedy tour, which has spanned more than 100 shows in major theaters across the United States.
