During a ribbon-cutting ceremony at L&F Distributors on the morning of Wednesday, November 5th, the LaMantia Family announced a monetary gift of $100,000 to Texas Tech Health El Paso for the Fox Cancer Center’s Building Hope Campaign, in honor of family matriarch, Ann Reine LaMantia.

Dr. Andrea S. Tawney, Vice President of Institutional Advancement for Texas Tech Health El Paso, unveiled the Ann LaMantia Infusion Bay at the Fox Cancer Center—a space within the facility where patients are administered intravenous infusion treatments, such as chemotherapy.
“My grandmother was a gentle, yet brave, woman who fought her hardest against cancer during the 80s,” said Lisa Peisen, Co-Owner of L&F Distributors. “We are humbled and blessed to be able to do this for her. Today’s technology and treatment is far more advanced than it was back then—it is our honor to help the Fox Cancer Center save lives right here in West Texas.”
The first comprehensive cancer center to serve West Texas and our Borderplex region, the Fox Cancer Center will transform how we treat cancer for our families, friends and neighbors. It will open the door to compassionate, world-class care, elevate life-saving research, and bring opportunities for innovative clinical trials—right here, in the community we call home. The Building Hope Campaign supports the construction of the Fox Cancer Center.
“The generosity of the LaMantia family honors Ann Reine LaMantia’s memory and her courageous fight against cancer while ensuring patients in West Texas can fight the battle against cancer here at home,” said Richard Lange, M.D., M.B.A., president of Texas Tech Health El Paso. “Over several decades, the LaMantia family has been committed to improving the communities where they do business. We’re deeply honored they have chosen to memorialize Ann with a meaningful investment that will keep her legacy alive in the Fox Cancer Center and in the lives of our cancer warriors.”
